A FUN WAY TO STAY HEALTHY: PARKOUR

Everyone has that one friend who is always at the gym after work and tries to make daily fitness apart of everyone’s routine. The problem is that many people picture going to the gym, or excerising in general, as a form of hard labor when it can actually be really fun!! One of the World’s most popular exercises to perform as well as witness is freerunning, in other words; PARKOUR

Parkour is a very fun and interesting way to get fit. It isn’t always so hard despite popular belief. It can actually be fun and easy.

It may look hard because you will start as a beginner (and probably because of the video above), but it may be easy if you have mastered your own form of Parkour. But all masters were beginners at first, so you as a beginner have the ability to become a Parkour Master! Isn’t that Great!?

But what is Parkour you might be thinking? Parkour is when a person runs from one place to another, maneuvering around all obstacles in any way possible.  When people perform Parkour, you will see them either flipping over chairs, sliding under tables or jumping off of ledges to reach their destination easier.

This activity will definitely help you stay fit. Parkour is a exercise that pushes your entire body to work as one, and  is a ton of fun.

Finding a place to Parkour isn’t and shouldn’t be very hard. You can do it at a park, after school, downtown, in the forest, etc. You can find barriers on a not so busy road or also do it on lamp posts.

One place to practice Parkour is around your neighborhood. But be mindful of where you go because not everyone will allow you to do run up their walls or jump on their belongings. Plus, some places are just not safe for that kind of activity if you’re not experienced and/or brave enough.

ANYONE can enjoy this very fun activity; you just have to want to do it. Parkour is something you train and work hard for. Many people do this and don’t notice: if you’re into gymnastics or have done flips off walls, these are examples of Parkour. Parkour is a very healthy and visually astonishing sport.
